The designs for Makai Ukuleles are based on island tradition. You can almost hear the ocean breeze in the palm trees when you play a Makai Ukulele! In fact the word “Makai” means “near the sea”! With all Makai Uke models you’ll find an attention to detail that their competitors lack.
These are real instruments made by accomplished ukulele luthiers who understand that instrument making is an art as well as a craft! In Hawaii wherever Makai Ukuleles are played you’ll often hear the word “Aiwaiwa!” and you’ll be tempted to say they’re “Amazing!” as well!
The Makai 70 Series Ukulele Concert features solid Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides for a very popular design. A combination of a solid top with mahogany laminated back and sides. It produces tones that result in deeper bass and brighter treble tones than a Mahogany top.
The Makai MC-70 concert ukulele is slightly bigger than a soprano uke which makes it the perfect size for adults.
