Kristan is a specialist guitar teacher covering a wide range of styles, techniques works on developing a strong knowledge of music theory.

At seventeen he attended the Wellington Conservatorium of Music. From here he completed a Bachelor degree in Music with a major study on jazz guitar. Focusing on Jazz theory and improvisation which lead to composition and arranging for Big Bands.

At the completion of his Jazz study Kristan relocated to New York City and worked as a session musician and began teaching guitar professionally. He has been teaching guitar for the past fourteen years.

In 2013 Kristan completed a Post Graduate Diploma in secondary school teaching to become a resisted Music teacher with the New Zealand Ministry of Education. He has worked in many secondary schools in New Zealand as both a classroom Music teacher, mentor, performance competition judicator and also as a private guitar teacher.

He has actively been performing, song writing and entertaining as a professional musician for over a decade covering many genres such as: Jazz and Blues, classic rock to heavy metal, Reggae to Gypsy jazz. He is currently collaborating and performing locally in three diverse local bands focusing on Jazz and Blues.
