Despite the name this is based on the MK1 tonebender. It's less fussy about where in the chain it goes and has silicon transistors for stability. It's a great sounding fuzz that stacks surprisingly well into a dirty amp. Being a tone bender it doesn't clean up as well as a fuzz face when you turn down the volume knob kn your guitar but it provides lots of different levels of fuzzy drive. Great sounding and versatile Tonebender at a decent price.
Great value for $$. Great entry level guitar. Action is a little high, but otherwise, no issues. The sales person 'upsold' me to this guitar over cheaper ones. His reasons were valid and informed, and the extra money was worth it. I bought sight unseen, and it was ready for pick up by a friend. I had a DPA unit some years ago but this is less fiddle to use and sounds excellent. Probably should be used in conjunction with a pickup for stage work but excellent for recording.
I bought this snare drum out of curiosity really. I have a large collection of quality snare drums but this Ludwig styling caught my eye. It arrived within reasonable time beautifully packaged.
It comes with Remo Ambassador Chinese heads and was semi-tuned. The snare wires needed centering and that was easily achieved and I tuned the drum properly.
It sounded excellent immediately....as good as some of my expensive snare drums except for the fact that the steel in this drum is quite lightweight and to my ears it sounds like
a Ludwig aluminium or Acrolite snare drum
I am quite pleased.
